- JDF 1406 is both a motion and an affidavit, signed under penalty of perjury under Colorado law.

It is sworn, which changes how you write it
This is not a letter to the judge. You are swearing the contents are true under penalty of perjury. Write only what you can support, keep adjectives out of it, and let documents carry the weight. Under-claiming and over-documenting is the posture that survives contact with the other side.
The service step is not optional
The Certificate of Service at the end is part of the filing. A motion the other party was never properly served with is a motion waiting to be a problem.
